In a Green Place

I’m not sure why I’m suddenly obsessed with green.  Maybe it’s my longing for sun and spring (or the fact that it is 70 degrees here today).  All I know is that I was taking pictures this morning in an effort to catch up with my project list on Ravelry and my table was covered with green yarn.  True only three of six projects were green, but when you add in the lavendar and green shawl I’m knitting, and the purple, red and green entrelac stole that equals five project in green.  And some of them are GREEN!

Now, I like green and various shades of blue green, but lately green has not been my yarn color of choice.  Or so I thought – until I actually lo0ked at my Ravelry projects page (if you feel like doing so, I’m lekessler on Ravelry).  So there is the green Central Park Hoodie I made for my sister, the green mitts I made for my neice, the green neckwarmer and beret I made for my sister-of-another-mother, the display green purse, the green wrap I’m making for the store.  Apparently the trend is I make green things for other people and the store, not myself.  I am, however wearing a green shirt today, so maybe that is changing.

Green sounds like a good color for the spring.  It will match all the purple, blue, and pink I have in my closet.  And it makes a great backdrop for the pink, purple, white, and yellow I’m also knitting on.  Maybe I should have wrote about my inability to knit monogomously since I have 10, no -11, wait – 12, works in progress?  Oh well, well save that for another day!

I lost another month

Ok, not quite a full month – only half of one! At least it’s the shortest month so I don’t feel quite so bad. And it has been a BUSY month!

So what have I been doing?  Let me show you some pictures; 1000 words and all that!

This may not be the clearest photo but that is DMC embroidery floss.  A lot of it.   I’ve wanted floss but it took a few months longer than I thought to be able to add it to the store.

I’ve also rearranged.  Again.  For those you haven’t figured it out, I like to rearrange things.  As I get new items in, new shelves, decide I need a coffee pot and so on, I move things.  I might one day find the “perfect” spot for everything and leave it – but I really doubt it!

Coming up in March, I’m going to put the classroom to use with a  class on knitting mittens, crochet entrelac, and knitting 101 – aka: now what I do!  I’ll let you know the days for the classes soon!

But closer on the horizon, we’ll be at the “Leap Into a New You” fair at the Community Building in McPherson on February 25 & 26.  Get more info here http://www.mcphersonks.org/news.php?action=fullnews&id=129
We’ll have kits for scarves and spa cloths – and maybe a few other things!
